$7,200 Raised At Steel Game

The Geneva Academic Foundation’s Steel game fundraiser was a great success. Families from all over Geneva came out to support the GAF on Friday as the Chicago Steel beat the Madison Capitols 4-0.

Thanks to Geneva Academic Foundation supporters and Chicago Steel fans, the Geneva Academic Foundation raised $7,200! The jersey auction alone raised $5,100, the highest total in all four years of this event. An additional $2,100 was raised through ticket sales. After the game, Steel players delivered their jerseys to the winning bidders and stayed to take pictures and sign autographs.

All $7,200 will go towards funding grants and scholarships for Geneva schools.

Steel President Dan Lehv expressed his appreciation for all who participated in making this night a success.

“It’s been wonderful to track the growth of this event over the last four seasons,” said Steel President Dan Lehv.  “We’re proud that the generosity of our fans will continue to have an impact on the education of students in our area.”
