For the fifth consecutive season, the Chicago Steel have partnered with the Geneva Academic Foundation and FONA International for a special event designed to raise money for Geneva Community Unit School District 304. The event highlights three home games this week for the first place Steel (19-6-2-0; 40 pts.).
The Steel will don special ‘blackout’ jerseys for the first time in a matchup against the Dubuque Fighting Saints on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 7:05 pm CT on home ice at Fox Valley Ice Arena with the game-worn sweaters auctioned off to benefit Geneva Academic Foundation. The Saturday showdown is being offered for free on HockeyTV.com.
The week-long auction is scheduled to begin on Thursday, Feb. 11 and run through Thursday, Feb. 18. Fans can bid on game-worn jerseys for the entire Steel roster and mascot Rusty’s jersey here.
